Career

Lisa lives by the phrase ‘adapt and overcome’. Working full-time as a Firefighter, she is no stranger to challenging situations and doing what it takes to get the job done. She credits her time mountain biking for a lot of this grit, and enjoys getting others out on the trail to show them, how they can overcome their own hurdles, and the humble satisfaction that brings. Lisa is also a Physical Therapist having worked in many fields of the profession, but now her focus has turned towards prehab for good musculoskeletal health, sharing information and exercises with her peers in the fire department. Having taken a step back from racing in 2019/2020 to become a Firefighter and a mother, Lisa is looking forward to getting her racing edge back with the KS Kenda Women’s team.

Community Involvement

Project Hero: Lisa is passionate about getting others on bikes to enjoy the great outdoors! She has volunteered with Project Hero, a 503c that focuses on Veteran’s mental health and getting them on bikes, since 2016. She assists with their mountain bike events as a tour guide and support rider.

Las Vegas Lasses Group Ride: Lisa began Vegas Lasses Ride, a women’s cycling group based in Las Vegas with weekly road rides. This scheduled ride has been put on hold, but she has continued to encourage more women on bikes by hosting various women’s clinics, from tire changes and bike washing to skills sessions and women’s group rides!

This Dirt Life: In 2018, she hosted the first, ‘This Dirt Life Retreat’; a comprehensive women’s retreat filled with mountain biking, yoga, camping, guest speakers, crafts and more. Following the success of that event, she hopes to continue this in the future, also encouraging families to get involved in the outdoors together. Lisa is excited to have the support of the KS Kenda team to continue this goal within a network of equally supportive women.
